Grade 10 Chain Slings

Grade 10 gives the benefit of an increase in capacity of 25% over grade 8 slings which can lead to savings in both the size of the sling required for a specific load and therefore the cost of the sling to lift that load.

I & P Lifting Gear use grade 10 chain and components for new or repaired chain slings and all our slings are assembled in house from an extensive range of stock fittings and chain to meet individual requirements.

If the chain slings are to be used in more demanding conditions (e.g. high temperature, asymmetric load distribution, edge load, impact/shock loads) the maximum load capacity values in the table above must be reduced by the load factors below.

Load factor 0,7 1 0,7 1 0,7 0,7

Shock slight shocks medium shocks strong shocks
Load factor 1 0,7 not permissible
